Workshop Information
We have received a number of emails requesting information about the speakers/mentors and the projects/explorations we will be working on during the Summer Experience 2007, so here are a few details you may be interested in.
Project Info
Working on diverse assignments, participants will explore various media, contexts and concepts; all of which will come together in the last week as loose explorations begin to comprise spreads for a publication which will be designed/printed/uploaded in the weeks following the experience.
Participants will not only be learning about design, they will also produce a series of finished design pieces!
Throughout the 2 weeks participants will have the chance to gain insight from a select group of highly skilled and influential designers, critics, curators, thinkers and writers. We hold a great deal of respect for each of the following, and are sure that the participants will benefit greatly from spending time with such creative minds!

VIDE Summer Experience 2007
DE+SIGN RE+SEED is the concept behind the upcoming experience.
VIDE director, Anno Fekkes in collaboration with Stange Attractors Design, Ryan Pescatore Frisk & Catelijne van Middelkoop, have developed an intensive 2 week course for media savvy design students and (future) visual communication experts. During the experience participants will meet and learn from several designers and design critics which represent the upper tier of Dutch Design. The workshop also includes a five day excursion to Berlin where we will experience history, nightlife and a few native designers/critics.
Through experimentation which focuses on analysis, story telling, formal research and emergent technology, participants are encouraged to open their eyes, re-evaluate High & Low Culture, Art & Commerce, and finally gain exposure to a completely different view on (traditional) Graphic Design: DE+SIGN RE+SEED.
The Experience will take place from August 18th until September 1st!
